Julie West is a contemporary British artist who is renowned for her paintings of railway and wildlife subjects.
Her paintings and sketches celebrate the light and colour in views of the English landscape, and subjects from historic railway scenes to images of the natural world.

Climbing Beattock
Early 1960's scene in the Scottish Borders. A 'Black 5' steam locomotive, No.44901 climbs the gradient a Beattock with a northbound freight train.

Ribblehead Viaduct
A preserved Gresley A4 steam engine with a train heading over the famous Ribblehead viaduct. Ribblehead viaduct is on the border between Cumbria and North Yorkshire, and is the most impressive structure on the Settle to Carlisle Railway.
